Can we Jam all the Holidays into One Week Please!.....

Wow! What a busy week, this past week we celebrated: Macy's birthday, St. Patricks Day, our 6th wedding anniversary, and Easter! I'm exhausted and don't even really feel like posting all of it, that would mean I have to think of cute things to say about each event and my brain doesn't want to. But since this is now my family journal I have to write something.

(Can someone please edit me out of this picture)

We actually celebrated Macy's birthday at my parents house on Easter since all the family was getting together then anyway. She sang "Happy Birthday" to herself that entire day and was more then excited to open presents and blow out her candles. She was pretty dang cute if I do say so myself.

The Easter bunny did visit our house, hid eggs, and filled the girls Easter baskets with all sorts of fun goodies. The girls were pros at finding the eggs. I was so into watching my girls enjoy their Easter egg hunt that I completely forgot to take pictures until the excitement was over. I was feeling so bad about it, and sorry for my poor scrapbook, that I tried have the girls re-enact finding eggs but their faces just weren't as excited when they were pretending to find eggs all for the sake of some pictures. Oh well.I also bombed on finding cute, matching Easter dresses this year. I searched and searched for the perfect dresses, or any decent matching dresses that weren't going to break the bank and came up empty handed. They didn't match on Sunday. Kurt had to remind me that it wasn't the end of the world if they didn't have matching dresses. I need to learn not to be too picky. But when it comes to that kind of stuff I'm kind of a perfectionist. I'm really bothered at myself for stressing over something that isn't of importance.
When we jumped into the car to go to church I remembered that I needed to take pictures of my girls in their non-matching dresses. So I ran back in the house, grabbed the camera, and pulled them out of the car to snap a few quick pics. We were already late so I didn't fuss with getting a good shot. I know, I know, 1:00 church is late and I should have had plenty of time. But I didn't.

Our anniversary was pretty boring this year. Kurt and I usually go out of town for a couple nights to celebrate but this year since he had just taken time off earlier in the month we decided to just do dinner at Benihanas. Boring. But that's alright with me. We promised to not do presents for each other this year either. But while we were at dinner Kurt told me he had a present for me anyways. I was thinking: How cute is that! ...Then he showed me the present... it was a pack of flashlights from Costco. wow, you really out did yourself honey. He said that he thought I would appreciate it since I am into emergency preparedness lately. Pretty romantic. Nothing says "I love you" like a pack of flashlights. That's what I always say. Bet your hubbys can't beat that!

To his defense, we did agree to not buy presents, since we have spent plenty of money on fun things this month. And just weeks before he bought me a rug that I had been wanting for months . It's not like I got him anything, so it's all good. I still love him. I guess.
After this week of festivities I'm ready for a normal, non-holiday week. I feel like I need to regather myself and find some organization in my life. If anyone would like to fold a mountain of laundry your welcome to come over to my house.
