As a mother of 2 girls I am forced to avoid the pink cups, plates, bowls, spoons, and anything else, unless I have enough clean for each girl. If I use a pink something for one girl, that one girl brags, and the other girl is disappointed and whining. I'm a true believer in: you get what you get and you don't throw a fit, but sometimes it's just the look they give each other when they have a pink cup and the other one doesn't. Or the happy, little wiggle they do on their chair. This has led me to avoid pink unless there is no other option. I'll pull plates from the bottom of the pile just to not give out a pink one. It eliminates problems in our home.

Snap Shot Sunday

Kurt and I celebrated our 8th anniversary by taking a 2 night getaway to the Homestead. We shopped, ate, and relaxed. Nothing is better than that. Here's pretty much the only picture I have of the 2 of us this weekend, my shoes on the dash while he's walking out of the gas station.

Catching a Leprechaun isn't Easy!

2nd annual St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun trap.
Plan A, designed by Raegan: Raegan would be in a box with a balloon and a pin and then she'd sneak out of the box and pop the balloon in front of the leprechaun while yelling "BOO!" and then she'd catch him, he would be forced to leave gold and treats and he would become her pet. That plan got squashed by her mom. We went with plan B.
Plan B was to get the leprechaun into the decorated cardboard house and make him comfortable with all the barbie furniture and rainbow M&M's. He would love it so much that he would fall asleep and the girls would catch him sleeping on the barbie couch in the morning.
That silly leprechaun didn't fall for the plan, he used the M&M's as a trail into the house and left the girls green treats, drinks, and a sparkly pink box full of gold. Maybe next year girls!!!
Macy's 4th Birthday
Macy's 4!!!!!!!! 4?!! Man, that went fast. St. Patty's Day Macy had her 4th birthday. It was a close repeat of Raegan's birthday but instead of Build-A-Bear we did Chuck E Cheese's. The night before her birthday, after Macy was asleep, Kurt and I decorated her room with streamers and balloons. This is the first year I've done this for the girls and I've loved doing it!!! I just wish I could see their faces when they wake up to it all. I don't know that we'll make a habit of it, but it's fun on the years that they don't get a friend birthday party.

Macy was great at Chuck E Cheeses, we had an endless amount of tokens and let the kids go crazy. Macy felt it necessary to dance while playing some of the games. We won hundreds of tickets and spent them on plastic rings and sparkly tattoos.

jealous sister
All Macy wanted for her birthday was what Raegan got her birthday, a scooter, zhu zhu pets, and a camera. She got the first two but the camera was replaced with zhu zhu rooms and clothes.

jealous sisterShe also helped make, and decorate her own cake. It was shaped as a heart, had pink frosting, and pink sprinkles, just as she requested. She did the sprinkles on her own, there may have been more sprinkles then actual cake.

Banana Spit Cafe

This is so typical of my girls that I had to post it. Kurt and I have had colds and have been sleeping in and letting the girls fend for themselves for about an hour the past few mornings, I know, awesome parenting.
Yesterday, while we were snoozing, they made a restaurant named The Banana Split. They made menus, and once Kurt and I actually made it out of bed we placed our orders and breakfast was served. I was feeling adventurous and ordered the daily special which ended up being a banana, and a Samoa girl scout cookie topped with syrup. Kurt stuck with his usual: toast.
Also, this restaurant was particularly unique in the fact that it came with shoes that the shoe girl put on for you. How sweet! I love wearing heals first thing in the morning with my pjs.

Shake Your Bum Bum!!
Macy says to me while I'm in the bottom of the pantry organizing, "Mom, turn around there's a monster behind you!"
I turn around to see Macy's bare bum pointing at me.
She's obsessed with her bum these days. Several times a day she turns around, sticks out her bum and sings "Shake your bum, bum!"

Cute Prayers
Raegan just prayed, " I love you good night....uh....I forgot the words..." then once she got started she said, "Bless me to have a good day at school tomorrow and I that I can do lots of craps."
I think she meant crafts.

Trying to Make the Best of 20 Feet of Snow in March

This is the way we spent the day off with the kids. It's sad to say, but we hadn't ever taken the girls sledding before now. They loved every minute, even when they wiped out. Macy was scared at first but it only took her a second to grasp onto the idea and go down all by herself. There was one point that Kurt was trying to make the girls a new path and he hopped on the tube and went flying face first into the snow and skidded for a good 6 feet, face-planted in the snow, before stopping. I don't think I laughed so hard. My only disappointment was that I was helping Macy with her glove at the time and didn't catch it on camera.
Snap Shot Sunday
One of the reasons I love Raegan so much. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't get some sort of note or picture from her. This night she wrote everyone in the family a love note and put them on our pillows with a treat as a surprise when we went to bed.
