It's official! Kurt is unemployed! This is a big thing for us!. After working for the same car dealership for 7 1/2 years Kurt finally decided that he's sick of the hours and needs to spend more time with his family. I personally have been sick of the hours since he became a manager. He sold cars for the first two years and after that has been one of their finance managers. Don't get me wrong, we are very grateful that he has had a good, stable job for so many years. It has allowed us to get into our home, and for me to be a stay at home mom. I have to say that we owe a lot to this job. It just got to a point were Kurt would go two of three days without even seeing the girls because he would leave before they were awake and come home at 10:00 or 11:00 at night after they were in bed. He has had to come early from vacations because he wasn't allowed to take a Saturday off and has had to work every holiday. I have to say that I'm excited that part of our lives is over. Although the unknown is scary and we have no idea what job he's going to get.
Don't worry we didn't make this decision to quit without much prayer and preparation financially. We've known that this day was going to come for months now and we have been setting ourselves up just in case Kurt doesn't find a job right away. He doesn't want to jump into the first thing that comes his way unless it's something he wants to do the rest of his life. Now is the time to find a job that he will be happy with forever. I'm not sure how long it will take him to find this amazing job, but I know without a doubt that him quitting his job is the right thing. Why it's the right thing is the question. Maybe it's right because we need some sort of trial in our lives, and he won't find a job right away. I know that when people go through major trials they are always grateful for them when they're over, but this doesn't mean that I exactly want this trial, although Kurt and I are probably due for a challenge, we've been so blessed in our lives. Or maybe (this is the one we hope for) he finds his dream job within the month and we live happily ever after, with time together on Saturdays, holidays, nights and maybe he'll be able to see our children grow up and won't be missing their lives like he has been. Kurt wasn't even able to take an hour off to see Raegans preschool program. It saddens me to think about all the time Kurt was missing out on. I think that spending time as a family, and my girls having a dad around, is far more important then living in a fancy house, having new cars, boats, and all thoses other things that are temporary and in the long run will mean nothing.
We did the right thing, now we just wait to see what the next step in our lives is going to be. So far I'm excited to have my husband around and he'll have some time to get his "honey do" list done!!! I'm sure I won't be feeling this way if he's still around jobless in two months. If you hear of any dream jobs opening up let us know!

Picture Tagged!
My darling niece Abbie tagged me a bit ago and I have been a tagged, blogging, slacker. So anyway, here it goes:

The rules are to take pictures of these things without preparation. Just go for it, so I did!
1. My favorite room. This was a toss up because I do like my girls rooms, but since those rooms are NEVER clean, toys galore in them I decided that my favorite room is the one that I can keep fairly clean most of the time which is my family room.
2. My laundry pile. I've never been great about keeping up on my laundry, however I've made improvements in the past couple months and I now do 1 load a day, which includes folding and putting it away.
3. Self portrait: I'm just not photogenic.

4. My fridge. Now I feel like I'm on MTV Cribs. Here it is folks, left over lasagna and all.

5. My sink. I can't stand to have dishes in my sink, it does happen but the second I get a chance to clean them I do.
6. My closet. Another thing that I'm not the greatest at keeping clean, I figure no one sees it but me so why bother. Now all of you are seeing it.
7. Favorite shoes. I go with totally practical and comfortable when it comes to shoes, so these aren't my cutest pair, but my favorite in the summer.
8. What my children are doing right now. Eating the dinner that I slaved over all day.
9. My dream vacation is: anywhere that I can lay in the sun, drink virgin pina coladas and eat at wonderful buffets. I do like to sight see, but probably wouldn't qualify as my dream vacation.
10. My toilet. I skipped this one because I thought it was weird. My toilet however is clean.
Now for the tagging. I tag Stormi, Haley, Alyssa S., and anyone else who has a burning desire to do this, it was actually kind of a fun one.

Rodeo
Every year for Kurts dad's birthday we go to the rodeo as a family. Raegan and Macy were both excited to go see the horses and the cowboys. After a few minutes Macy was no longer excited about the horses and was only interested in her snow cone, and lap jumping, which made me nervous because I just know that one of these rodeo days she's going to fall through that huge space under the seats in the bleachers. If you've been to the Round Up then you know what I'm talking about. Raegan's favorite part was the motorcycle dare-devils and she also told me that she wants to grow up to be a cowgirl. I think it was because she saw all of the Rodeo Queens sparkled up. All in all we had a fun time watching the cowboys get beat up. Here's a few pictures from this years event at the Round Up.

It Finally Happened...
Doesn't he look 10 pounds lighter? He did loose about 5 pounds of long, thinning, baby fine hair. Maybe thats it.June 16, 2008
Happy Fathers Day!
Happy Fathers Day to all the incredible dads out there, including mine, and my husband. Kurt has always been a great dad to our girls and I feel so lucky to have him.The highlight of Fathers Day this year was the tie that Raegan proudly made for her dad. I had all the co-op kids make Fathers Day ties and they were extremely excited, and I can't tell you how many times I heard, "My dad is going to looooovvve this!" They were so so cute about it. Kurt was such a good sport and wore it to church for Raegan.
Raegan also gave her very first talk in primary, called "My Fathers Day Tool Chest". She held up pictures of different tools and had a poem to go along with them that had to do with all the things our daddy's teach us. After her talk (which she did perfect, loud, and clear) she told her dad Happy Fathers Day and that she loved him in the microphone. It was really cute and I was so proud of her. I know that I was way more nervous for her to give a talk then she was. She beamed the entire time.
Fathers Day night we had my family over, my mom made turkey and brought it for dinner.
I love my dad, father-in-law and my husband! I've really got it good when it comes to the men in my life.
My dad with my girls. They adore him and he adores them. Raegan follows her grandpa around like a little puppy, she doesn't leave his side.June 10, 2008

Haley Visits From the Concert.
My girls are so lucky to have an aunt Haley who spoils them like crazy! Haley is my younger sister who is living in Wisconsin supporting her husband while he attends medical school. When Haley was first moving there Raegan would call it the concert, and ask when she was coming home from her concert, so we all still call Wisconsin the concert. She came to visit May 23rd for a few days and wanted to spend most of her time with my girls. She took them to the petting zoo, and we also spent one of the days at the zoo. It was so fun to be able to spend time with my sister. I keep warning my girls to live it up while Haley has no kids because their royal treatment might go away once aunt Haley has kids of her own to spoil. We love you Haley! Thanks for being so dang cute with my kids, they absolutely love you!
