The description of the photo is explained below...this car was the winner.

24th Madness

Raegan's telling everyone that her car is going to zoom down the fastest.

What could be more entertaining than destroying your little girls Barbie cars? Kurt and his best buddy Chis had this idea to attach fireworks to cars and see's who car would go the furthest. Chris invited some friends over and everyone was instructed to bring their cars prepared to race.
Well, the idea was a fun one until they lit the cars and none of them even moved an inch. They all just lit off the fireworks, or caught on fire. We decided that Macy's won since it burned the longest and was unpredictable to when all the fireworks went off. She was heat-broken afterward because her car was melted all over the pavement. I think that Santa is going to have to add Barbie cars to the list this year.
We also shot off fireworks, and let's just say that not all of them were really safe. One of the "Wyoming" fireworks shot off too low and sent fire balls shooting everywhere, including skimming the blanket full of kids. The men were stomping out mini fires in multiple spots. Smart. Despite the cars not moving and the lawn catching on fire, we had a really fun 24th of July.

Boating

We went boating for the first time this summer last week with Kurt's brother Shawn and his family. It's pretty pathetic that we own a boat that rarely gets used and we live so close to a lake. Raegan knee boarded for the first time completely solo! After she did that she was convinced that she needed to wake-board. We didn't let her this time, I'm not sure she's quite ready for that.
Macy was really nervous at first on the boat but it didn't take her long to warm up and go tubing, she laughed her head off and gave us hang loose signs while she was out there.
It's funny that we've owned a boat for so many years and yet I'm pretty much the same wake-boarder that I was 7 years ago. I guess you never improve when you only boat 3 times a year.

Kurt rescued a baby Quail from my parents window well, he lost it and it was running wild around their basement. So cute though.

I'm so far behind on posting events, hopefully I'll get caught up this week!

4th of July

This is just a taste of our 4th of July fun, the girls had a terrific time at our annual neighborhood party, really what could be better then snow-cones, cotton candy, water-slides, bounce houses and a bike parade.
I got drenched from the firemen this year, I wrongfully thought that I was out of the line of fire, I couldn't run fast enough.

Summer Camp Day 1

Last summer my girls went to a summer camp in the neighborhood and loved it, this year I thought why not put one on myself. It was the perfect year to do it, my kids are at a great age and since school is out I have the time. I passed out flyers not knowing the response I would get, well, I was sold out that night I came home from advertising, I didn't even get all the flyers out that I wanted to.

The first day of summer camp was Wednesday, Cooking Craziness, it was a success! We made mini pizzas, played food games inside and out, decorated cupcakes and had a cupcake contest, and made up our own restaurant with menus. The kids had a great time and thank goodness I had my sister in law, Chef Beth, there to help out. It really was a fun day.

This was my favorite cupcake. Tommy couldn't wait to decorate before he ate the top off.
