Snap Shot Sunday

I gave Macy a side of blueberries to go along with her favorite lunch, tuna on crackers. This is how she chose to eat it.

Spitz a What?

This is a Spitz Nevus mole. Macy magically grew it on her eyelid the beginning of September and it kept getting bigger. I took her to her pediatrician who said that thing needed to come off because it could get huge. That would be gross. So off we headed to the plastic surgeon office. Who would have thought that my 3 year old would see a plastic surgeon before I would! We set up a surgery date with Dr. Bishop at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Once we arrived at the hospital they checked us in and gave us a room right away. We lucked out because, Michelle, our neighbor ended up being our nurse! She was great. After she checked Macy's vitals Macy turned to me and shut her eye and asked me if her red dot was gone yet. She asked this same question after each doctor of nurse came to visit us. She had no clue what she was in for. The Anesthesiologist came to check her heart and lungs and when he placed the stethoscope on her she asked, "Do you hear my beep, beep?". He thought that was just adorable so he let her listen to her own beep beep in the stethoscope.
He recommended that Macy be put under full Anesthesia with a breathing tube considering we were dealing with her eye, and she has a history of acid reflux, which would be really scary if it were to happen during surgery.
After waiting more then an hour, Macy was whisked away to be put to sleep. The nurses told me she did great and fell asleep quickly. She was gone for about an hour then they wheeled her in. I was so relieved to see her awake and well, even though it's just a silly mole being removed I was still nervous.
Macy started feeling really sick and lost all her color, and her body was covered in a rash. She had a little reaction to the Anesthesia and while she was feeling sick I was trying to comfort her and I was feeling as if I was going to pass out myself. In fact I had to put my head between my legs for a minute because I had tunnel vision and could feel myself starting to go. I could not be a nurse.
Once they got her feeling better I felt better myself. It was so hard to see her in pain and feeling sick, it just broke my heart, but I'm so glad we did this little surgery when we did and didn't put it off any longer. We got to go home 4 hours later, from the time we got there and we had to pick up Raegan from school. Macy was so excited to tell Raegan about her hospital adventure, but, Raegan was completely disgusted with Macy's eye and refused to even look at her. She said, "Mom, I just can't look at her, her eye gives me the creeps!" Raegan ended up facing the back of the car so she wouldn't have to look at Macy and then she asked Macy to get into the house first. Raegan went running full speed ahead into her room and slammed the door to escape her sister. I forced Raegan to look at it and told her the story of what the doctor did. After I explained the stitches were just pieces of string and they covered it in a glue then she was alright to be around her sister.
So far her eye is healing just the way it's suppose to. I'm anxious to see what it looks like when it's completely better.

Valentines Day 2010

I have to say that this Valentines Day was one of the most fun I've ever had. One of the main reasons was the ward dance. Kurt and I took the girls and they danced up a storm. They were so into it and cute that I sent Kurt home to get the video camera. There were dancing contests with prizes and once Raegan heard this, she was bound and determined to win. One of the competitions was a family Hokey Pokey. Our little family Hokey Pokyied our brains out. But we didn't win. The last competition dance was a sister dance. You were suppose to grab your sister and dance. Raegan grabbed Macy and pulled her to the middle of the dance floor and held hands to dance, but by that time Macy was sooo tired and didn't want anything to do with it. She just wanted me to hold her. So I turned to Kurt and said, "You gotta go win this one for Raegan!" He and Raegan danced and danced, Kurt was a sweaty mess. They announced 3rd place, it wasn't them. They announced 2nd place, it wasn't them. They announced 1st place and they WON!!! Raegan couldn't have been happier. She was beaming the rest of the night and talked about winning the dance off for days.

Raegan's 6th Birthday!!!!

Happy Birthday to my 6 year old!!!!! Raegan really is a terrific girl. We LOVE her!!!
This year we decided to have a family birthday. Raegan wasn't too keen on the idea until we gave her the option to go to Build-A-Bear. We haven't ever taken the girls there before so they were SO excited!! I'm not going to lie, I was excited too.
The night before her big day, after she was asleep, Kurt and I crept in and decorated her room with balloons, streamers and hearts. I could hardly wait for her to wake up. She ended up waking up in the middle of the night with a bad dream, so the surprise wasn't quite as fun as I had hoped for, but she still talked about her decorated room all day long.
After she came home from school we headed to Build-A-Bear and let the girls go crazy (within a budget of course). They loved every minute of picking out their bears and dressing them. We then drove to Bountiful to have cake and open presents. Every present was a huge hit: a scooter (hers got ran over last summer.....whoops), her very own digital camera (thanks to Tyler and Beth that got a new one for Christmas and so kindly gave us their old one, but to her it's brand new!), 2 homemade jackets from Grandma Vivian, and 3 Zhu Zhu pets! Zhu Zhu pets were the birthday craze. She had asked for them, and got one from each: Mallory, my mom, and one of her crushes, Tavon!!! I don't know if she was more excited about the Zhu Zhu pet or the fact that it came from Tavon. How stinkin' cute is that! She had a great birthday.

Snap Shot Sunday

I'm trying something new, I've been so inspired by Jen's 365 project, where she posts a picture everyday, that I wanted to do something similar. But I'm not nearly as ambitious as Jen, so I'm going to try to post a picture every Sunday that happened in the week. We'll see if I can keep up on it. Here's two to get me started. Although, I still haven't posted Raegan's birthday from January, but it's coming.

If you sleep in past 8:00a.m. and have two little girls, then you run the risk of being attacked with princess stickers.

Craft day with the sisters, this is some of the crafting loot after all our trips to the DI.
