Family Pictures

Since I've been taking pictures and capturing moments for people, I realized that we haven't had a family picture done in the longest time, I don't love pictures of myself, but who does right? The most amazing photographer, Jen, took our family pictures the other night. She's taught me everything I know about photography, she's great. Anyway, I can't decide which picture to enlarge for my house. There were so many great ones, and I've tried to narrow it down. Man that's hard. Votes?

Partners in Crime

The criminal

The accomplice

Don't let those innocent faces fool you. I have seriously never laughed so hard as I did the other night at my in-laws. The kids were inside playing while the adults were outside talking. Out of nowhere, the door flies open and Landon throws a sealed
envelope labeled to grandma outside then slams the door shut and runs. Grandma's thinking how sweet the gesture is until she opens it and finds this:
Apparently the kids were jumping off the bunk bed downstairs and Raegan hit and knocked the light off the ceiling. Landon and Raegan put their heads together and decided that Landon would write Grandma the letter for Raegan to inform her of the bad news. I thought it was cute that he was trying to help her out.

4th of July

Once again Denise and Julie pulled off a great 4th of July party. Every year they do an amazing job putting everything together so that we can all just enjoy the holiday. This year they even had the fire department come to show a fire truck and ambulance. The kids love exploring the fire truck inside and trying on the gear. Kurt even got into the spirit and put on the entire fireman gear. He did a dance for everyone and then asked for a round of applause. I think he secretly wants to be a fireman.
Raegan loved getting wet, going down the slide, the dunk tank, rocketing off water bottles, and running around with her friend. I was laughing because she found a friend of which she held hands with and ran around with the entire day and at one point I asked her if she wanted a drink, then I offered a drink to her best friend of the day, Emily. Raegan turns to her and says," Your name is Emily?" How I wish we could all be like that and be best friends with someone and have no idea what their names are. It was cute.
Macy still hasn't decided she loves the water so she enjoyed the bounce house, squirt guns, fire truck, and fireworks that night. Although, she did fall asleep half way through the fire works, even through all the noise. It was a great day, and of course the girls slept great that night.

Mid-Life Crisis

Kurt's loosing it. I have no idea what's going on with him, but he's definitely going through a little something. Don't get me wrong, our marriage isn't on the rocks or anything, if anything it's better then ever. But, he's having a hard time focusing on everything and anything and he's turned into a walking financial debt. For instance, in the past couple months he's received 2 speeding tickets, backed into a mini van at church, got a flat tire, hit a massive hole in our wall while wrestling, and fell down the stairs and broke part of the banister in half, paid a tow truck, and received a no license plate ticket. He's on a roll. A roll that we can't afford.

The financial part is not the reason why I think he's going through an early mid-life crisis, he recently took a trip to Vegas to purchase some cars at auction. He came home with a new crazy wardrobe. The second he walked into the house I said "Wow, that's going straight into the garbage." I forgot the whole "Hi honey, it's nice to see you after you've been gone for 5 days." I lost all train of thought when I saw his fuzzy black dragons on his shirt. He purchase several crazy shirts and proceeded to tell me that's whats in style. I don't think he realized it's in style for 15 year old Latino gang members. Not 31 year old working men.

He's also been talking crazy talk and saying we should sell our house, sell our cars, get rid of the t.v., phones, and anything else that's a bill and move into a tiny apartment, open a sports bar, work 80 hour weeks and we'll be rich when were old. This will happen over my dead body! He knows it's crazy so he's not pushing his irrational thoughts, he's just going through a phase. I don't know what to do with him. I think I'll start by getting rid of the fuzzy dragon shirt.

Round Up 2009

This is the 7th annual rodeo for me, I had never been to one until I married an American Forker. Now we go every year and the kids love it. When Raegan hears the word "rodeo", she always has to add that she wants to be a rodeo queen one day. I have a hard time thinking that will come true, with our lack of horses and cowgirl training, but a girl can dream. For now she loves watching the queens from the stands.
She also was thrilled with the motorcycle jumper guys and asked the entire first half when they were coming on, she told me that was her favorite part of the whole thing. When I asked Macy what her favorite part of the rodeo was she told me "The boys", then I said, "The cowboys?" and she got a huge smile on her face and yelled "YES!!". I remember that was Raegans response to the rodeo last year. My girls may marry cowboys.

Stay-cation

For our Smith family vacation this year we decided to go crazy and have a Staycation!! None of us have tons of money right now, so we spent a week together just, hanging out, eating, and doing some local activities. One day we spent at Lagoon, Kurt has been calling Raegan Adrenaline Junkie. She started out on the small stuff, completely content, but Kurt was dying to take her on the roller coasters, so off they went, thank goodness I wasn't with them because I know that I wouldn't have approved. They not only went on the roller coaster, but on the Colossus 3 times, the Spider twice, and the Bat. She was measured on every ride and barely makes the cut. She loved it.
Macy was also having the time of her life, even without her sisters company. She jumped right on every ride in her area and laughed at it all. I think her favorite was Puff. After seeing my kids reaction to Lagoon I was wishing we bought season tickets. They were just too dang cute. My only regret was that I didn't bring my good camera. Next time.

We stayed until every ride was closed and the girls instantly feel asleep in the car. When I tried to get Raegan out of the car at our house she half woke up and said "the roller coaster" then feel back asleep.

More Cow-a-bunga pictures for my family

Don't judge me, these weren't taken with the good camera. Now I for sure know it makes a difference. Not that any of you care, but I do.
