Off She Goes

Raegan has been hesitant to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels, but was forced this year to do so since Kurt tried to ride her bike and broke the training wheels. After a couple days of practice she became a pro, now I can't keep her off her bike.

Bowling Maniacs

We were totally crazy this Memorial weekend. We did yard work, cleaned the garage, had a BBQ, and went bowling. Raegan a about a week ago was asking if she could go to the place where you throw a heavy ball and hit the things that stand up and fall down. I realized she was talking about bowling and that we have never taken her there! 5 years old and never been bowling. She's deprived, the poor thing. So I knew we had to go bowling right away. It was one of the best nights we've had, because the girls were SO excited and loved every minute of it. Macy's faces as she watched her ball head to the end of the lane we priceless, I can't wait to take her back.

Riding into the Sunset

For the last few years Kurt's Dad has been working on these rocking horses for the grand kids and they are finally done!! He used to build rocking horses just like these for his own kids growing up, so it's a really neat keepsake. I loved the way they turned out, so I decided to take some pictures of Macy on it.

Yard Sale Novices

My parents have moved out of their house after 15 years. You collect a lot of stuff after 15 years. It was appropriate that we attempt a yard sale to get rid of some of the junk. I've had 1 yard sale, my mom has never had a yard sale, so we were winging it. My in-laws let us use their yard, since it's located on a busy road. It worked great, we had plenty of people stop to buy her old junk. There were a couple of highlights to the day:
1. The lady that we overheard on her cell phone saying "You've got to get down here, these people are selling stuff for 1 and 2 dollars!" We then realized we needed to up our price a little.

2. My mom selling my dad's ultimate drill for $3. He wasn't thrilled.

3. My dad selling my mom's wicker cabinet for $5. She wasn't happy about that.

4. A lady that found a new, collectors book, that wasn't suppose to be at the yard sale and saying to her daughter "I've been looking everywhere for this!!!!" Then went to ask my mom how much it was and she sold it to her for $1. Oops.

5. Haley showing up to the yard sale from Wisconsin as a surprise for Mother's Day!!!!!

My whole family was at the yard sale at one point and it ended up being tons of fun, sitting around, eating ice cream, and making money on junk you don't want. If you haven't had a yard sale, I highly recommend it.

One Proud Girl

Raegan lost her first tooth, although the way she was acting and bragging about it to everyone, you would have thought she won the lottery. She was beaming with pride and even made a sign to let the world know of her accomplishment.
She was even more thrilled when the tooth fairy came. Apparently the tooth fairy has orange hair, white eyes, a blue shirt, and purple wings. Raegan saw her.

More pictures

I have been having so much fun taking pictures lately, mainly because it's been of other kids besides my own. Raegan and Macy are so sick of posing for pictures for me that they make it a torturous experience. I posted these pictures on my photography blog, but I wanted to put them here too, since this is my new found hobby, and I'll need to put them in my blog book. These are just a few of my favorites lately.

THANK YOU!!

Somebody mowed our horrible lawn last night, and I can't figure out who! Either they won't fess up, or I haven't discovered them yet. I have the best neighbors. I almost cried when we pulled in late last night to our yard mowed. THANK YOU!!!! To whoever did this, you are the greatest, we love you, and a HUGE thank you. Or maybe they were just sick of seeing our ugly yard, either way, were grateful for your service.

The Forgotten line in the Word of Wisdom

I taught Raegan's Sunday school class on the Word of Wisdom last week. Of course I stressed what was good and bad for our bodies.

Later on in the day Raegan says to me, "Mom, I know what else is bad for our bodies....boogers!" She's right.

p.s. Kurt's better, don't be scared of him.

My Swine Fluish Husband...

...has been sooo sick. If I didn't know better I would say that he did have Swine flu. He's been a walking zombie, and still goes to work. I know that all his co-workers, and businesses he visit have just gotta love that!!! I was trying to explain to him, that now is not the time to scare people with his overly sick bod, but he didn't care. I will admit though, that the second he walks out the door in the morning, my O.C.D, disinfecting self goes in to mode, and I Lysol everything down that he may have touched (he doesn't know that). I also haven't been sleeping next to the infected man. He's been sleeping on the couch, he actually says he sleeps better there.

I paid the price the other night by being paranoid to sleep next to him. I went into the bedroom to find my sicky hubby totally out on the bed in his work clothes and nothing I did was going to wake him up. Since I can't fall asleep on the couch I came up with the brilliant idea to move Raegan into a sleeping bag on her floor, then take her bed over. I couldn't fall asleep, and Raegan woke up an hour later, looked around, and saw me in her bed and said "SWEET!" then went back to sleep. Right after that Macy woke up, for the 4th time that night, wide awake and would not go back to sleep. I laid by her, forever and finally came to the conclusion that she wasn't going back to sleep anytime soon. Then Raegan woke up again looking for me. So, Raegan, Macy, and I, all got up (it's 4:00a.m. at this point), made hot chocolate, ate toast, and watched Imagination Movers. We were back to bed at 5:00a.m., but Macy had to sleep in a sleeping bag in Raegans room as well, so we had a slumber party.

My eyes were burning, and the only thing that kept me sane was thinking that once they fell asleep they would sleep in late the next morning so that I could sleep in. I was wrong, they were up at 7:00. It stunk. I was tired. They were grumpy, but we survived. I think next time, I'll take the risk of getting Swine flu and sleep next to Kurt.
