This morning I got up, got on the computer, and thought, hum, I haven't blogged anything new for a week, I wish I had something to blog.
I jinxed myself. Later in the day while I was outside with the kids, Macy had to go potty, I sent her in the house to go, she came back out to play, no big deal.
I then go in the house 30 minutes later and hear the water in the bathroom running. Not only is it running, it's flooding my bathroom and down the hall. These pictures don't give it justice, because I had already sopped up 7 towels before taking the picture. My drawers were full of water and I have tupperware of ribbons under my sink that were full of water, and floating. The water drenched everything on the bathroom closet floor and was dumping into the basement from the vent that was acting as a drain. Awesome.

I'm Stinkin' Old...
It's my birthday, it's not just any birthday it's the big 3.0. birthday. Whoa. I would have never guessed that this day would come. Now, I've never been embarrassed or ashamed to tell people how old I am, but maybe that's because I was always in my 20's and it was never that big of a deal, half the time I wasn't even sure how old I was! But, for some reason, I think that I'll remember that I'm 30 now. I may also pull the whole "I'm turning 29" thing over and over every year. Or, maybe I feel the same as I always have and I just won't care. If you don't like me because I'm an old lady, then oh well, I don't like you either. Just kidding. Now I just get to sit and watch: my metabolism slow down, my crows feet get worse, my spider veins show, my arthritis kick in, my arms to start flapping, my eyes get saggier, and all those other fun things that happen to us old folk. I'm sure it won't be long before I'm pulling my face in the mirror wondering if it's time for a face lift. (I hope you all know I'm not about to go get a face lift).
This morning Raegan came running in my room to wish me a happy birthday and then she asked when my friends were coming over and what games we were going to play at my party. She was more then devastated when I broke the news that I wasn't having a party, and I was just going to lunch with Grandma. I had to promise her when I got back from lunch that we would make me a cake and sing. So that's what we did, we even had Mallory and Lily over to help with the cake and sing Happy Birthday. The girls were thrilled about it. I loved that they were so excited for me. Am I the only one that has to make their own birthday cake? Pathetic. I'm not a huge birthday person so I'm alright with it.
Kurt had already given my camera to me for my birthday in December, so tomorrow night my parents will tend the kids over night so we can go out. It will be great.

Happy Easter!!!
Easter morning Raegan could hardly contain herself, woke up early, was in our bed and begging to wake up Macy, finally a hour later we let her wake up Macy, which Macy was NOT happy about, she was in tears, and yelling "I wanna sleep! Leave me alone! I tired!" Once we explained the Easter bunny came she was all smiles. Cute aunt Haley sent my girls Easter packages with these bunny ears included, which they had to wear.
As far as Easter dresses go this year, last year I spent WAY too much time and energy trying to find the most darling Easter dresses at an affordable price and came up empty handed, so this year I looked a little bit at the stores and when I didn't have success right away I gave up and decided to make my girls their dresses. My mother-in-law helped me, and I think they turned out pretty cute! Of course it's not the traditional huge fancy dresses that I wanted, but they worked and I didn't let Easter dresses give me anxiety this year. An improvement for me. Silly, stupid, but true.

Ellie and Eli

So, without her permission I took Ellie and Eli's pictures. Doesn't she have beautiful children? I'm hoping to get all the kids sometime, we'll see if her older ones will humor me one of these days and let me take their pictures.

Hippity, Hoppity, Easter's on it's Way
I know that was a corny title, but fitting for this post. We've been trying to cram some Easter festivities in this week, one being our Conference activity. I've decided that activities during Conference are the only way to go to stay awake. There's just something about soothing General Authorities voices that take me straight to dream land. I get more out of it, listening, while entertaining kids and making food. It's just one of those multi-tasking skills.
p.s. I have no idea why it is. that when you put your cursor over the words it highlights and takes you to a random picture. Sorry about that, if you know why my post is doing that please let me know!
We dyed Easter eggs on Monday night for family night, Macy wasn't sure what to do with them after they were dyed, so when we told her we could eat one she thought she would give it a try....with the shell on...Raegan was brilliant and followed her younger sisters example (that never happens, and what a time to be a follower). I love these goofy girls.

Thanksgiving in April
I've been brave...maybe this doesn't sound brave to anyone else but me, but I stuffed, and cooked my very first turkey! After Thanksgiving when the turkeys when on sale for cheap I picked one up and shoved it in my freezer, I haven't had the guts to pull it out until now. I also didn't have the guts to invite anyone over for dinner in case it didn't turn out. But, I'm proud to announce.......drum roll please.....it was pretty good! My stuffing sucked, the flavor was okay, but the consistency was more like mash potatoes rather then stuffing. But the turkey itself, and the gravy were eatable. I'm no longer afraid.
