Sweet Raegan Jo

Raegan has always been a tender heart. She is always worried and concerned for others feelings, and is always aware if someones feelings are off in our family.
There was one day that I was extremely frustrated/upset/hormonal/ and on the verge of tears when I was being treated badly by some lady at a costumer service desk and Raegan kept hugging me and whispering "Are you okay mom?, What's wrong?" She is just the sweetest girl.
Our ward did a Christmas service project by putting stockings together for homeless children. Our family picked to do a stocking for a 6-8 year old girl. I was explaining to Raegan why we were buying toys for these kids and how often times their families don't have homes, cars, or money. Raegan got teary eyed and said "Mom, I have something I want to give to that little girl." and she went running and came back with her money from her money jar (which thanks to her parents is now all pennies), she dumped it out and put half of it in a bag and said, "I want to give this to the little girl in case there is a day when her (yes, I meant to say 'her' and not 'she') doesn't have food and her mommy doesn't have money then the girl can say 'mom, I have money from the little girl Raegan so we can buy some food!'" I just about cried. It was so thoughtful. I hope that 6 year old girl appreciates my Raegans bag of pennies.

Tooth Fairy Confusion

The tooth fairy seems to be a big part of our lives these days, that's why she always seems to make it on the blog. Macy has watched her sister lose 4 teeth in the past little bit and is very jealous. She constantly tries to wiggle her teeth and tell me that they're "growing up".
Macy was fortunate enough to have the muscle that connects your upper lip to your teeth wrap around in between her two front teeth, she had to get it cut. Actually, she didn't have to have it cut. If she didn't, she would always have a huge space in between her two front teeth. I didn't want her to look like Madonna, so I made the decision to have her snipped.
We explained to her what was going to happen and she got a huge smile and said "And the Tooth Fairy's going to come?" She came up with a great idea, of course the tooth fairy would come for that.
After torturing her at the dentist and my mom having to babysit her all day, she wrote a note to the tooth fairy and put it under her pillow.
4:30 a.m. Macy is upset and crying in our room, I take her back to her room and she shows me around the room and says "See, there's no tooth fairy in here!" "and my tooth is still in my mouth. See?" I had to explain that the tooth fairy doesn't stay in your room, or take teeth out of your mouth while your sleeping. She just leaves something under your pillow. At that point she discovered the dollar and went running through the house sooooo excited and woke up Kurt to show him. I had to keep her from waking up Raegan. After that, she didn't go back too sleep, she was just too excited to head to the dollar store the next day. We were all tired.
Going Back to Preschool
I feel so lucky to be teaching preschool right now. I was able to take over one of the classes at the preschool I wanted to teach at and I'm loving it!!! At first when I got the call I was apprehensive about putting myself over the edge adding one more thing to my already busy life, but so far I'm glad that I did it. I'm really enjoying being with the kids, and the time flies by.
So I guess that I'm now offically working 3 jobs and being a mom! Along with teaching I still make bows for Baby Bling and of course take pictures. I love all my jobs, but I know that I'm going to have to let other parts of my life go for a bit while I do this, my house may not get as clean as I like, my girls hair won't be quite as cute as I like it, my laundry may not always be done....but all in all I think it will be worth it as long as I can keep my sanity.

Halloween 2009
All for One and One for All!!!!
I heard this phrase over and over this Halloween season. At the beginning of the month Kenlie called and asked Raegan if she and Mallory would like to be the three Musketeers for Halloween, all thanks to the new Barbie movie that just came out. We couldn't resist that offer! Then the younger three: Macy, Afton, and Lily didn't want to be left out of the game so they became the three Musketeers as well! 6 of the cutest Musketeers there ever was!
In order to make them darling, the moms, Kristin, Casi and I went together to buy all the materials and pattern for their costumes. Thank goodness we all have mothers and mother-in-laws that are fantastic sewers and help us all whip up these darling dresses with capes. My mother-in-law helped me, okay, let's be honest, she practically made mine for me since I decided to get sick and wasn't there to help her for a couple days. But didn't she do a great job? I just loved their costumes when we finished them.
The girls all went trick-or-treating together this year as well because we all know that the 3, oh, I mean 6, Musketeers can't be apart.
There were soooo many cute pictures that showed these cute girls personalities. I'm going to have to post more on my photography blog (when I get the chance).

The Tooth Fairy's a Thief!
Raegan has been losing teeth left and right lately. She has no problem just pulling them out, maybe because she gets excited to get her dollar and head to the dollar store the next day with no influence from mom of what to buy. It's her own choice.
The other night Kurt pulled out her top left tooth, it had been hanging down so long past the rest of her teeth that I was glad that she finally got rid of it. That night she put her tooth in a plastic bag (it makes it so much easier for the tooth fairy when that tooth is in a baggie) and put it under her pillow. Hanging on her bed post was her open bright yellow purse filled with all sorts of treasures. Raegan was so concerned about that tooth fairy stealing from her yellow purse that she had to zip it up before she went to bed. I tried to convince her that the tooth fairy doesn't take things that arent' hers, but Raegan didn't believe me.
The tooth fairy came that night and thank goodness all of Raegan's special things were still in her room. She did double check the yellow purse to make sure all it's contents were in place.
Dosen't Everyone Want to be a Daisy Scout?

I have to admit that Girl Scouts wasn't originally on my list of activities that my girls would participate in. But when Denise approached me and asked if Raegan would like to be in her troop I couldn't turn it down. Denise is just awesome and I knew that Raegan would have tons of fun if Denise was the leader. She's the kind of person that goes above and beyond, especially when it comes to fun activities and parties. Last year her troop even went to Build -A- Bear.
This is Raegan being sworn into the troop I guess you could say. She has loved it so far and has already learned a lot about being a good citizen.
Gardner Village 2009
Our annual trip to Gardner Village, I know that everyone has this same post this time of year and we didn't want be left out. It wouldn't feel like Halloween if we missed this tradition. My girls wanted to see "the witch going potty" 3 different times, they thought it was hilarious, although that picture didn't make the blog cut.

Cabin Fun
Thanks to the Wrights we were able to escape this weekend for a night at their cabin. The girls were in heaven being together with friends, going exploring, playing rock band, making up clubs and stores and sleeping next to each other. Kurt and Jared got some football in while Casi and I tried to figure out our girls Halloween costumes, and cut them out using a pattern (something fairly new to me, I sew free hand) I think we only really messed up Mallory's "outer skirt". I guess we'll find out when we go to sew them together how well we did. It was great to be able to get away from everything for a night and be with friends. Thanks Wrights!

Here's cute Mal roasting a cracker, no smore's for this girl, she hates chocolate. I wish I hated chocolate.

I Gasped.
This may be hard to believe but is a picture of Macy's piggy tails. You're probably wondering why they're on the floor and not on her head. Well, they were on her head at one point this morning. She decided that while I was in the shower (of which this morning I had to take a 5 minute shower, thank goodness), that she would find the hair cutting scissors and cut off her piggies. Wow. I walked in to see her standing in front of the t.v., one piggy tail off and she was working on the other, it was half way gone. She just looked up at me while I gasped and kept working on cutting that other side, while she stood there in a pile of hair. The first thing I thought was, I've got to call Heidi, this is an emergency. She was so sweet and was at my door 5 minutes later to assess the damage.
Luckily her hair was pulled up so she was only able to cut to where the rubber band was and not straight to her scalp, so most of the damage was at the back, which is why we decided to cut her into a short a-line, this was the very longest we could keep her hair. I like her hair to be a little longer so that I can pull it up in different hair dos, but I'll have to kiss that goodbye until it grows out now.
What was she thinking.
On the hair cutting topic; I chopped mine off a week ago. Maybe that's where Macy got the brilliant idea. So here we are with our new, now almost matching, haircuts.

Job Update
First off, I have to start by saying that I do love my husband. My teasing him is out of love. That's what we do to each other, trust me he teases me worse then I tease him. So, just because I like to post his goofiness on my blog from time to time doesn't mean that we're not getting along. We actually have a terrific marriage. Don't get me wrong, we have our ups and downs and anyone who says they don't ever have downs in their marriages are lying. I just got wind that some people (who probably don't know us that well) were worried about us after reading my posts. I love my Kurt.
On that note, Kurt quit his job working for a t.v. station selling advertising for their website. It started out alright, they promoted him just after a couple months to manage the team, but he spent all his time managing and no time selling for himself, which lead him to quit being the manager and focus on his own sales. He then realized just how much he hated knocking doors for someone else's business and not spending his time building a business of his own. So he called me one day and asked if I had his support to quit the next day.
I told him to go for it, we had nothing to loose, this business just wasn't working out for him. He's an incredible salesman and manager, but he completely lost his drive and motivation to sell this product. He was having a really hard time getting himself to go to work everyday, and stay working everyday and not spending his time golfing, hanging out with his buddies, going to lunch...it just wasn't working.
The day after he quit his brother and him decided to start a roofing company. He's been roofing everyday since. It's not his first choice of work, but he's being active, which is great for him and his stress, and they want to get to the point where they have a crew working for them and they do the biding and find the work.
He's also still selling cars with his friend and making a little money that way. I hope we survive!!! It's been a crazy road since he quit the dealership over a year ago, but we've learned a ton and hopefully use our new knowledge wisely. It just stinks that the economy has to be so slow while we try to get a new business up and running. This may sound terrible, but my comfort in it all is that everyone is in the same boat as we are with the economy, and times are harder for lots of people right now. Hopefully things look up from this point on!!!

Sew Much Fun (ha ha that's so cheesy!) ...
I mean it's sew cheesy!
I'm not sure what has gotten into me lately, but I have been loving to sew and coming up with new things to make with my fabric. I've also been on a kick to find things to use as props for my photography and fixing them up. Thank goodness I have a very talented mother in law who has been sweet enough to give me sewing lessons and show me the basics so that I'm now able to do this. She has also supplied with with darling fabrics that are going to make the cutest dresses, I'm waiting to make them because I want to come up with the perfect idea first so I don't waste it. Here's just a few projects I've been working on, I still have a list of more things that are in the process of being made. Hopefully the sewing bug doesn't leave me so I get them finished. My poor girls might have nothing but homemade clothes this year because of my experimentation's. They're young enough that they won't care or know they aren't wearing designer clothes. Right?

I found this barstool at the D.I., it was ugly, (I wish I would have done a before shot), but I knew it had potential as a photo prop. Then I decided that I would refinish it to match Macy's room. Doesn't it look cute in there?
I had to recover a foam rectangle to use as a prop in that fabric as well because I loved it so much.

Kindergarten!

Raegan's in KINDERGARTEN!!!! I'm so excited for her and her new adventure at the big school! Raegan has been asking for the last month if it's "fall" yet so that she can start kindergarten. Well "fall" came last week and off to school she went.
I had purchase a couple of new outfits for Raegan to start school with and I let her choose which one she wanted to wear the first day. She had to have a fashion show to decide with the full length mirror in her room. With each outfit she would pose, spin and check herself out while making comments like:"This one looks cute with a smile!", "A pony tail would be cute with this one.", "Buns go with this outfit", oh boy, I had to try hard not to embarrass her by cracking up laughing. She finally settled on the tie died blue dress with white shorts. She was pretty dang cute, and she was right, that outfit was perfect with a smile.
Her teacher is Mrs. Rigamoto and she asked that the parents come for the first 30 minutes of school. The kids sang songs, did art projects and read a story. Raegan didn't care when I left, she was just excited to be doing her own thing. I'm not worried about her making friends or doing well in class. She's such a friendly girl and genuinely concerned with others and their feelings. She also loves to learn and listens well to her teachers, she wants to please everyone. Hopefully that trait is used to her benefit in school and doesn't lead to disappointment. Raegan is such a great kid, I'm sad that she'll be going to school everyday, but I'm so proud of her and I know she'll do great!
